Book Summary
We feel the urgency in our spirits. We see the headlines, the moral decay of the culture, and the "last days" signs unfolding before our eyes. As Christian Conservative moms, our first instinct is often to protect, to fight, or to retreat. But what if the most powerful tool in your spiritual arsenal is a simple tea kettle? Diane Canada is issuing a clarion call to the "cavalry" of the suburbs: The Church. This isn't just a book; it's a tactical, grace-filled mission manual for the mom who can’t sit back and do nothing with so much on the line. Through a blend of vulnerable personal testimony that resulted in a strategic set of signature techniques, Diane will show you how to: Discern the Season: Understand the biblical urgency of the hour without falling into fear. Master the "Tea Kettle" Strategy: Learn the art of "Start a Kettle, Not a Fight"—a disarming method to build trust equity, and open doors that have been slammed shut by politics. Win Hearts & Minds: Move beyond "going along to get along" and begin planting seeds of truth that linger in the heart long after the tea is done brewing. The suburbs are the new mission field. Your kitchen table is the new pulpit. Don't let another day pass in silence. It’s time to Lady Up for Jesus. The harvest is plenty, the time is short, so let’s get those kettles whistling.
The Story Behind Lady Up America
We're not in a political or cultural war, but in a spiritual one between good and evil, and I assure you, there is NO cavalry coming out of Washington, D.C. We, the Church, are the cavalry! Tensions were extremely high in our country when I ran for the Tennessee State House of Representatives in 2020. No one can fully prepare you for the vicious public attacks you'll endure when your name goes on the ballot as a Christian conservative in our modern culture. But that year was particularly challenging during COVID, BLM riots, and the political division plaguing our country and our families. There was a high personal cost to me and many others for taking a stand for Christ. My background as a business crisis consultant, specializing in women-owned businesses, where I navigated high-pressure situations and counseled leaders through the personal turmoil that accompanied them, proved invaluable. Similarly, my experience as a professional songwriter trained me how to dig deep and craft authentic, meaningful, and concise messages that move the needle in the human heart. But God gets ALL the credit for getting me through that tumultuous race both politically and personally. I experienced spiritual breakthroughs that transformed my life and led me to the work I do today! I finished surprisingly well for State House of Representatives, at 46%, in a District in the heart of Nashville, which was a third Republican, a third Democrat, and a third Independent. Soon after, God began to show me how he wanted to repurpose my former careers as both a crisis consultant and a professional singer/songwriter for the political and cultural challenges we face today. This is the most fulfilling work I have ever done. I've had a front row seat to the machine of politics, and without question, our only hope for America is God! We've drifted so far from Him, and we're enduring severe repercussions; therefore, we must reclaim our culture. This starts with our neighborhoods, one graceful conversation at a time. True influence stems from authentically engaging with those we naturally encounter each day in a way that reflects the character of Christ. This is hard to do when we are wounded warriors, and we lose our influence because of hypocrisy. So, we must begin by healing within our own hearts and minds if we hope to heal our country. As we become more effective ambassadors for Jesus, we are more capable of navigating and influencing the toughest battleground of our lifetime... the suburbs! This is much more doable than we think! All we need to do is drop a pebble into the "still water" of a neighbor's worldview and watch the ripples move long after she has left the table. I'll show you how to do this in a way that is much less likely to get you ostracized or labeled 'that neighbor'. Let's do this! - Warmly, Diane
